We'll work together to figure out your underlying needs while developing coping skills and exploring solutions to change. I truly believe that every person is capable of making positive changes in order to achieve their goals. In my work, I am respectful towards my clients, honest, compassionate, and non-judgmental.
I grew up in New Jersey but came to the warm sunny Carolinas to become a Tarheel and pursue an undergraduate degree in Public Health as well as my Masters in Social Work degree. After graduation, I worked for Atrium as a social worker in the Emergency Department trauma center. I loved my time working there and became skilled at working with people experiencing stress, depression, anxiety, and abuse, as well as other mental health and social issues. I met Laura Frohboese, the owner of Cornerstone Counseling, there who asked me to come work with her at Cornerstone. I was ready to move in a different direction with my career and go back to my true passion, which is helping adults live a meaningful, healthy, and happy life through a one-on-one therapeutic relationship.
On a more personal note, I am passionate about animal rescue and have 8 rescue animals of my own (5 cats, 2 dogs, and a bunny). The picture below is of me and my dog Foxy and, to be honest, I'm not really sure who has the better smile! I love spending time with my husband and 3 daughters as well as with my friends. I also enjoy baking and can make a pretty cool kid's birthday cake like the one pictured below. My happy place is the beach and I love dancing. Overall, one of the most important things to me in life is to try to keep a positive attitude and good sense of humor!
